Mission Statement
Super Syd is inspired by the adventures my sisters and I shared as kids and the bittersweet distance
of growing up. We want to bring this story to life because it celebrates courage, creativity, and the
deep bond between siblings, while reminding us to cherish imagination and family connection.
The Story
The story opens with 10-year-old Sydney crafting the ultimate movie-night surprise for her older
sister, Sloane, who is distracted upstairs packing for college with her boyfriend Josh, aka "the troll"
in Syd's eyes.
When Sloane bails on movie night to go to Josh's house, Syd refuses to let their tradition fall apart.
She transforms into Super Syd, sneaks out, and scooters all the way to Josh's place,
only to arrive too late.
Back at the house, Syd storms to her room, heartbroken. Sloane follows, this time donning her own
forgotten cape, and the sisters finally have the honest heart-to-heart they have been avoiding.
The film ends with the two reunited, capes on, sharing their long-awaited movie night, side by side.
My Supers!
These are my own super sisters!
Like Sloane, I have younger sisters. Sailor and Kennedy are 13 and 14 and live back
home in Texas. Every time I go home, I am struck by how much they have grown.
Like Sydney, I also have an older sister. My sister Sasha is my best friend, and I
cannot imagine growing up alongside anyone else. We stay connected through FaceTime debriefs and an
endless exchange of Instagram Reels.
My sisters are the reason Super Syd exists, and I cannot wait to celebrate
and represent our sisterhood on the big screen.
Our Previs!
Attached is a pre-visualized scene we shot as both a reference and a sneak peek of the action to come.
Grab some popcorn and enjoy!
These four films serve as key inspirations for Super Syd, each influencing a
different layer of the story.
-
Bridge to Terabithia: children using imagination as an emotional coping mechanism.
-
Ramona and Beezus: heartfelt sisterhood, conflict, and unconditional support.
-
Luca: fear of losing those closest to you while learning distance does not weaken love.
-
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: playful camera language and bold character energy.

Visual Style!
We want Super Syd to represent the joy and excitement of childhood with bright
colors and playful camera movement that reflect the imaginative mind of a child.
How We Plan On Using Our Funds
Our total crowdfunding goal is $10,000 by March 4th.
Every contribution helps us bring this production to life.
We aim to begin principal photography in mid April 2026. This campaign helps
bridge pre-production and production so the project can move into filming.
Support of any kind is welcome, and a single follow, like, share, or pledge makes a huge difference.
And see you at the festivals.
